Battery and EV design

Battery and EV charger designs, drawn to code from the start

Adding storage or a charger changes the electrical design. We draw the placement, the backup wiring and the load calculations, as a standalone package or as part of a solar plan set.

What we design

For new solar plus storage jobs and for adding storage to an existing system.

  • Battery placement plans: location, clearances and mounting
  • Backup load panels: whole-home or partial backup, with the load list
  • Single-line diagrams: battery, gateway, inverter and transfer equipment
  • EV charger load calculations: service capacity checks before you add a charger
  • Labels and placards: for energy storage and multiple power sources

Useful for

  • Solar plus storage: new installs with batteries from day one
  • Battery retrofits: adding storage to a system already in service
  • EV charger installs: with or without solar
  • Service upgrades: when the load calculation shows the panel needs one
Questions

What installers ask us

Which batteries do you design for?

Tell us the brand and model you install. We work from the manufacturer's installation manual and spec sheets for each job.

Can you design storage on a system you did not install?

Yes. Send photos of the existing equipment and the original plan set if you have it.

Do you do the load calculation for a service upgrade?

Yes. We show whether the existing service can carry the new load, and draw the upgrade when it cannot.

Adding storage to your offer?

Send us one battery job and get the design back to review.
